On the side of a gently sloping hill just outside the village of Kato Korakiana, this property has some of the best views we have seen and in just about all directions. Like the name implies – and unusually for Corfu – this lovely villa is very warm and cozy as it is built entirely of wood. It is therefore extremely well insulated, energy efficient and earthquake resistant. The manufacturers are Finnish – a well established firm with an excellent reputation for quality.

Inside

An entrance gate into the sweeping driveway leads to the front of the house, or down to the lower level. There you find a large double garage with space for two cars and the boiler room. There is also the possibility to construct a lift from this level up to the top floor of the house.

The steps up into the porchway and through the front door, open into the spacious living area. To one side is the well laid out kitchen, traditional in design, with painted cupboards and incorporating all modern features. The living and dining room, are separated by a half-wall, which provides a partial visual barrier. At the front, overlooking the gardens through enormous patio windows, is the sitting room with a stone fireplace.

To one side of the sitting room, there are two very large bedrooms. One is presently an office with a separate locking door to outside. The other room has been arranged so that it can be used as one large room, or divided in the case of visitors and the need for extra beds. These two rooms share a large shower room and can be separated from the rest of the house into a visitors’ suite.

Stairs lead from the living area up to a further three large double bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own verandah and fully fitted wardrobes. On this floor there is a large family bathroom with unusual “pebble” style tiling.

All the windows throughout the house have top quality insulated double glazing, mosquito screens and folding solid wood shutters.

Outside

Outside, there is an attractive kidney shape swimming pool with an unusual waterfall feature. There is plenty of space around the pool for sunbathing, and the whole pool area is fenced and gated so it is safe for small children.

The garden is laid partly to lawn and has been planted with mature shrubs and fruit trees. Within the fenced and gated area there is an additional building allowance of 400 sq.m.

The house has central heating and air-condition, there is a telephone and internet connection.
